You might have heard of Gary Vaynerchuk, but there’s also a huge chance that you haven’t read all of his books. In this post, I’m sharing 2 Gary Vee book summaries to give you a headstart on how to run your business from the ground up.
Entrepreneurship can be challenging. Some people see it as an uphill struggle that will require you to make sacrifices, fight your way through the hard times and stay focused on your goals.
As an entrepreneur myself, I know these struggles firsthand. But I also know that there are others out there who faced the same challenges and came out victorious – and one of these people is Gary Vaynerchuk, also known as GaryVee.
I look up to GaryVee because he is an entrepreneur that has grown from the bottom to the top. Gary built a strong brand that resonates with millions of people. And there’s no doubt about it: he made it and paved the way for others to follow in his footsteps.
My personal experience: I used to read one Gary Vee Book after another…
When I was still starting my business, I used to read one Gary Vee book after another. I would regularly turn to his podcasts, videos, and other resources for advice. I’d even revisit them every once in a while to look for those little nuggets that I might have missed the first time.
The efforts I made during those first few years paved my way toward building a successful business. But that’s not all; those resources helped me reach the point where I am today.
Now that I’m lucky enough to be in a position where I teach others about entrepreneurship and starting a business, I’d like to pay it forward by sharing with you the lessons I learned from Gary Vee.
In this blog post, I’m also going to reveal two of his books that have helped me grow as a business owner – so you could, too.

1. Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World
As humans, we hate being sold to. That’s how we’re wired.
Yet, many of us still run our businesses like our businesses are a huge billboard. And all we do is sell, sell, sell.
But let me break it up to you: there’s more to business and entrepreneurship than just selling. Our companies exist to serve others.
Want to cut through the noise, attract prospects, and grow your business in the process? Then you need to understand that you’re not just selling, but you’re in the business of helping people.
And this is where the Gary Vee book, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook comes in.
The whole premise of this book is simple. That is, every social media post you put out there has to give something of value (jab) to your audience.
And the only time you can do the right hook (or sell and promote) is when you’ve given your audience enough value (jab) to get them to buy from you.
Gary published this book sometime in 2013, but I firmly believe that it’s still very relevant up until this day.
So, if you think you don’t have a voice in an extremely saturated market, give this book a read. You’ll then learn that you can still succeed no matter how noisy the market gets.
2. Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion
Crush It! is another Gary Vee book that has been instrumental in helping me become a better entrepreneur.
I’ve read this book a few times, and it still makes me think every time I reread it.
In this book, Gary makes the case that every business owner or entrepreneur should establish a vibrant personal brand. Now, what this idea did for me was that it gave me the flexibility that only a personal brand can offer.
When I established Corrie as a brand, whatever I was selling didn’t matter much because my audience was looking for what I, Corrie, had to offer. My products and services are not tied to a specific audience other than those who are willing to hear what I have to say. My personal brand was tied to me, what my audience liked about me, and what they saw in me that they also saw in themselves.
The book also discussed how new entrepreneurs and young business owners should choose a platform to build their brands on. Notice that I didn’t say platforms, but a platform. And yes, you need to choose only one to concentrate on. And you must pick the right one.
You can learn many things from this book, but unfortunately, I can’t discuss them thoroughly in this post. So, if you think you were in the same boat as me and you’re starting to think that maybe you should create a personal brand, but you’re not sure where to begin, then I highly recommend that you check out this book.
